Necklines

Exotica

This sultry necklace turns the temperature up.  She's a creature of the night.  Images such as the face of Ava Gardner spring into my mind when I behold this babe.  Ava Gardner & salsa - can you see the same daydream too?

Emma Ralph's Flamenco beads sit beside Sally Carver's Turbines & I've added some Czech glass daggers to the central structure.  Comfort is always high on my assembly agenda & this necklace is deceptively smooth against the skin. The tips of the centrepiece are gently curved & rounded so you can relax & enjoy the hot tempo of your evening without worrying about spiking whomsoever you get close to.

Centrepiece:  approx. 17cm x 3cm           Length: approx 46 cm / 18 ¼ inches

Price: £225 / $440 approx

  Moonflower

This necklace takes its name from the magnificent focal bead which was made by by Laura Sparling.  Capturing the delicate beauty

& lustre of this necklace in a photograph is possibly the hardest challenge that I've ever faced. I think there is a glimpse of it here,

but the Moonflower focal bead deserves the attention of a master.

The focal is hung amidst mother of pearl droplets and amazonite discs & rondels.

Length of focal: approx 30 mm

Length: approx 52 cm or 20 ½ inches

Price: £125 or approx $245

'She Walks In Beauty, Like The Night'

A set of Emma Ralph's Polka beads are holding wired hands with 24 dark, dense, brooding blue Swarovski crystals and another set of beads by Emma called Blue Saucer Lustfuls  - dramatic?  You bet!  The Lustfuls are made from a glass with a metallic finish.  The colour shifts according to the light level.  They're sat by me now - are they silvered green or  metallic copper green or metallic copper blue - I can't make my mind up.  Have you heard of shape shifters?  Well, these are colour shifters!

Let's have a closer look at the second set of Emma's beads, namely the Blue Grey Polka Stripe earrings .  Emma has etched these beads but masked a strip of glass whose gloss is now catching the light in the photos above.  I kept two of these beads back & top and tailed them with sterling silver rondels to form a pair of delectable, sophisticated earrings which will arrive at the same time as this necklace.

I love this necklace.  i spent a lot of time in its company because each element is hand wired. The central section is made up of three large wired elements as you can see above.  For the final flourish, I handwired one Swarovski crystal to another to form a linked 'chain' which will flatter the nape of your neck.  I have this rule that jewellery should flatter from all angles - this is a very good demonstration of my self-imposed guidelines.

Length of necklace: approx  43 cm or 17 inches

Length of earrings from tip to toe:  approx 4 cm or 1½ inches

Price: £225 or approx  $440
