Tied Up In Knots / a.k.a. The Leather Ruffle Bracelet
I know I'm biased but I love wearing these bracelets. I like to think that they're the jewellery equivalent of my Gizeh Birkenstocks - carefree,
comfortable, dress up, dress down & totally free of frump. There is one slight problem - I'm unable to resize these bracelets but having said that,
the TUIKs are very accomodating creatures.
I hope the photograph above gives you some idea of the ruffle effect of these bracelets - this is the feature which is largely responsibly for the
TUIKs flexibity. I have three - one that's fitted, a medium & one which is slightly too large for my wrist. I like to roll this TUIK up my arm & wear it just
a little higher than normal - i's a practical solution to the eternal question of what jewellery to wear whilst doing your housework. ( I jest, but the
Nigella in me just had to suggest it!!)
The mantra that I like to keep when experimenting is 'the bead's the thing' - my job is to frame other people's work. In my opinion, frames should
be like mothers-in-lawa - don't interfere. ( I jest!) I hope this is a successful example of respect.
Copper Rocks TUIK
The sun refused to shine on the day that i took these photographs which is sad because I failed to capture the sparkle of the raised silver speckles on Beverley Hicklin's beads. I also wanted to emphasise the beautiful effect of powdery, pale aqua verdigris - it's exquisite in the flesh. i love this TUIK so much that I'm mightlly tempted to sneak it out of the shop. Given that I already have large collection of jewellery, for the moment I will harden my heart & deny myself this pleasure.

Raku Swirl TUIK
Laura Sparling is the artist responsible for these elegant, glossy beads. The subtle colouration drifts & entwines in shades of tan, camel, a slightly pale mid-blue & a stunning pale green - I've learnt from my good friend Beverley Hicklin that this is called celadon. A very sophisticated TUIK!

Tan Tile TUIK
These glorious beads were made by Helen Brodt-Savage - I'm a huge fan of her work. Indeed Helen's beads inspired the TUIK. The combination of her organic designs with leather & silver is an irresistible one to me. Once again the subtle sparkle of the raised silver detail on the waves eluded my lens.
This is natural chic!
